Programme

We will start our session with an update by Carlos Eduardo Jurado Moncayo, Executive Director of the Health Sector Chamber of the National Association of Entrepreneurs, ANDI, in Colombia. As a result of the ANDI Health Sector Chamber Sustainability Report 2019-2020, Carlos will inform you about the latest trends and developments in Colombia’s healthcare sector. He will update you on the new approach and priorities set by ANDI with the outlook towards 2022.  

This is followed by Frans Hermes, Founder and Managing Director at Spectator Healthcare Technology, sharing his experiences of doing business in Colombia and the lessons learned. Frans has been involved in many ground-breaking projects in Colombia, including the collaboration between Coomeva Medicina Prepagada, Colombia’s leading healthcare insurance company. It is the first national health insurance company in Colombia that extended its healthcare services with Spectator’s state-of-the-art eHealth & Telemedicine platform.

  • Healthcare spending in Colombia is expected to reach US$28 billion by 2023; 
  • Taking into account the sectorial environment and macroeconomic growth expected in 2022, the health system is likely to be under significant pressure due to increasing demand, ageing society and the costs of medicines;
