The Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the Dutch diplomatic network in France organise, in cooperation with Task Force Health Care, an Economic Mission to the Paris Healthcare Week and Lyon from 20 – 24 May 2019. The mission will be led by Bruno Bruins, Minister for Medical Care, Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport

The French healthcare market provides opportunities for innovative Dutch businesses and knowledge institutes, active in the Life Sciences & Health Sector. With more than 67 million inhabitants, France is one of the largest healthcare markets and economies in Europe. However, access to healthcare – especially in its rural areas, remains a challenge. Next, to this, France is dealing with an ageing society and an increasing number of chronically ill. Reforms in the French healthcare system, focussed on digitalisation, increase the opportunities for innovative products and services.

Who should join?

This mission provides possibilities for Dutch businesses, knowledge institutes and healthcare facilities active in the following themes:

  • Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)
  • eHealth and digitalisation
  • Medical devices and medical technology
  • Elderly Care
  • Hospital build and/or hospital efficiency

What can you expect?

This mission will provide you with the possibility to identify market opportunities for your business or knowledge institute and to get in touch with potential partners in the LSH sector in France. The programme consists of:

  • Participation in the Paris Healthcare Week from 21 – 23 May;
  • A poster stand of your organisation on the Holland Pavilion;
  • Collective programme with visits to – and meetings with – private and public (university) hospitals, government – and other relevant – agencies active in the healthcare sector.
  • Networking events
  • Individual matchmaking

In the case of enough interest, a visit to Lyon in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (AURA) will be part of the mission. Here, you will discover the local ecosystem (such as innovation clusters) and meet with potential business – or research partners in the region.

Costs

The participation fee of this mission is €950 per organisation (maximum of 2 participants per organisation). For more than 2 participants per organisation, the cost will be €475 per extra participant. Travel, accommodation and potential costs i.r.t. individual matchmaking (translators or individual transport) are at the organisation’s own expense. A travel agency has been asked to prepare a travel package. You can choose to use this option but are free to make own arrangements.

Registration

Registration is open until 1 April, 2019.

Please note: A maximum of 20 organisations has been set for this mission. Moreover, it is important to us that an organisation joining this mission fit well within the themes and set-up of this mission. Therefore, registration does not automatically mean participation in the mission.
