Torrey Adams Sr. Director – Global Life Sciences, Economic Development Division at Greater Houston Partnership. Torrey is responsible for leading the Partnership’s work to position Houston as the Third Coast for Life Sciences. He works to coordinate the efforts to support the growth of the life science ecosystem and assist with the recruitment of both domestic and international life science companies to the Greater Houston region. Torrey has a B.S in Chemistry from Marquette University and a PhD in Synthetic Organic/Organometallic Chemistry from Wake Forest University. Nora Belcher Executive Director at Texas e-Health Alliance. Nora Belcher is the Executive Director of the Texas e-Health Alliance, a non-profit advocacy group that she started in 2009 to give health information technology stakeholders a voice in public policy. The Texas e-Health Alliance serves as the state’s leading advocate, from local communities to the national level, for the use of information technology to improve the health care system for patients. She is widely considered to be one of the state’s leading experts in digital health care, having worked on the issue for over 20 years in a variety of roles. During the most recent Texas legislative session, Ms. Belcher led the passage of a number of bills related to telemedicine, telehealth and remote patient monitoring. Ms. Belcher holds a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin. She owns a hardcover first edition of Game of Thrones. https://txeha.org/

Roundtable Medical devices and Bio design innovation

Fiona Mack, Head of JLABS @ TMC. Fiona is responsible for external engagement, innovation sourcing, company onboarding, portfolio management, operational excellence, educational programming and P&L. In this role, she catalyzes and supports the translation of science and technology into valuable solutions for patients and consumers across the pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer, and health tech sectors. Prior to joining JLABS, Fiona was Senior Director of External Innovation at Ipsen, supporting the expansion of the Rare Disease and Neuroscience portfolios. Before joining Ipsen, Fiona was a Director of External Innovation Oncology Discovery at Roche. Notable activities include the acquisition of Tensha Therapeutics, Tusk Therapeutics and Ignyta, in addition to early discovery academic collaborations. Fiona earned her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and her undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University. Roundtable Digital health at Memorial Hermann

Eric Smith, Chief Digital Officer for Memorial Hermann. Memorial Hermann is a not for profit community health system, comprised of 6,500 affiliated physicians and 28,000 employees serving the Houston area across more than 270 care delivery sites and 17 hospitals. Eric joined the Memorial Hermann family 2020. Serving in Chief Digital Officer role, Eric has responsibility for digital, data, and contact center strategies for the system. Prior to Memorial Hermann, Eric spent a good portion of his career at USAA in San Antonio, Texas. During his tenure at USAA, Eric held multiple leadership roles across technology and digital organizations. He served as the Chief Technology Officer as well as the organizations first Chief Data and Analytics Officer. While at USAA, Eric was able to bring a number of innovative solutions to production, including natural language capabilities within the voice response system, a first to market mobile-based virtual agent, real-time transcription within the contact center, and an enterprise data and insights marketplace.
