Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, entrepreneurs are looking for ways to improve international healthcare by exporting their solution. The Starters International Business coaching programme (SIBIC) offers them free guidance, beyond the limitations of COVID-19. The Member Board of Directors, Director of Marketing and Sales and the Marketing Manager of INTER share their experience with the programme.

The challenge

Robbert van Rooij (Member Board of Directors), Robin Reusken (Director Marketing and Sales) and Edith Irausquin (Marketing Manager)  work for the Dutch system integrator INTER. INTER’s activities cover several sectors. Within the healthcare’s hospital sector INTER aims to increase the quality of care by presenting the right information at the right time. Robert: ”Our software and integrated systems support in the optimization of operation, work and consultation processes hospital-wide. We do this by ensuring that image and information flow within the hospital run as efficiently as possible. Our aim? Let medical specialists make better, faster and safer decisions. These process improvements through audiovisual solutions and ICT can be applicable to the field of diagnostics, Multi-Disciplinary Meetings (MDM), video conferencing, hospital control centers, (surgical) operations and more.” INTER’s ambition to take their smart solutions across the border had led to the development of strategic plans for international expansion. Before taking action and entering a foreign market, they wanted an external advisor to have a close look at their export plan. They decided to join the SIBIC programme through Task Force Health Care.

The approach

The coaching trajectory for INTER was guided by Sven Walraven (experienced entrepreneur, CEO at SovaCare) and Steven Jonis (programme manager at Task Force Health Care). Three coaching sessions yielded a new and improved action plan for international market entry. “In the process, we saw some of our own ideas confirmed. That’s reassuring because then you know you are doing the right thing,” Robbert and Edith said. “But it has also led us to new insights and useful contacts.” “We learned about possible pitfalls, and we found out which parts of the plan deserve extra attention. We now know how to start exporting in a very focused way, and we have determined the necessary follow-up actions”
