Telecom Medical Tube Systems has built over 50 years in experience on a pneumatic tube dispatch system which disruptively changes the way in which hospital goods travel within a hospital. Using the Medical Tube System, Hospital goods such as blood bags, clinical samples, ward supplies and medicines like cytostatics  are delivered safely, cheaper, quicker and more convenient than through traditional logistical procedures.

Just a couple of kilometres outside of the city centre of Bogota, Telecom Medical Tube Systems is building their first tube system on Colombian soil at a medical institution of Clínica Colsanitas S.A. Colsanitas is one of the largest health care networks in Colombia, comprising 56 medical and dental care institutions.

This reference project is Telecom Medical Tube System’s first step in the Colombian market and promises an exciting future opportunities. Stephan Smit, Telecom’s commercial director elaborates: ’’This project is relatively small but showcases the power of the Tube System in Colombia. Colsanitas is a major player in Colombian healthcare and therefore a valuable relation. We also want to make other competing clinics aware of the benefits of our Tube System. Colsanitas is using it…what are you waiting for!?’’

The project came into effect after Telecom Medical Tube Systems signed two business partners, namely Linde Colombia and Chaher S.A. Colombia, as distributors during their participation in the Roadshow Life Sciences & Health | Colombia 2017. In this Roadshow, the Task Force Health Care cooperated with the Holland House Colombia to present participants with an intensive 4-day programme. Stephan Smit recalls: ’’The cooperation between the TFHC and the Holland House provided us with an excellent programme of site visits at major healthcare stakeholders and individual matchmaking which enabled us to find two partners (Linde Colombia & Chaher S.A. Colombia) that exactly fit our profile‘’.

After signing their business partners Telecom Medical Tube Systems stayed right on top of the action by arranging multiple visits in both the Netherlands and Colombia to provide commercial and technical training sessions to both distributors. This close cooperation is important for Telecom Medical Tube Systems to create international impact. Stephan Smit: ’’It gets repeated a 1000 times but in the end you have to engage and be physically present in a foreign market to make any meaningful progress. Activities with the TFHC are the perfect business development tool introduce yourself in a market, build relations with high level health stakeholders and meet business partners’’.
